Tarot for the Collective

Hello friends, and welcome to another Tarot Forecast! Eclipse season has passed (collective sigh of relief) so the wild energies of the past few weeks will soon begin to settle. The solar eclipse in Aries on March 29th sparked an energy of transformation, bringing with it new opportunities, and more importantly, hope. Now that the cosmic reset button has been pressed, many may be feeling a sense of breaking through stagnation. However, with the upheaval, challenges are still present, so this week’s Tarot for the Collective focuses on facing obstacles by asking: What challenge must I face, How will it benefit me, What personal strength will assist?

Three tarot cards on a celestial mat, surrounded by crystals and a candle. Cards depict women in reflective poses with bright colors.
8 of Swords, 4 of Cups, The Star. Deck: The Lightseer's Tarot

An energy of stagnation and confinement comes with the 8 of Swords. This feeling of being stuck with no visible way out is powered by the mind. The image shows a woman sitting before a mirror. In reality, she is not physically confined yet as her reflection shows, she has allowed herself to believe she is bound and blindfolded. Victim mode slides through this card, a belief that everyone but yourself else is to blame, when in truth, the perpetrator squats within. Overcoming the 8 of Swords demands taking a close and honest look at the challenging situation; how your actions herded you into this state, and what actions are now required to break free. Simply put, the key to freedom lies with you. This card is known as a Gate card meaning, once the issue is tackled, you move through a spiritual gate into special awareness. Face this challenge. Resist laying the blame at the feet of others and take responsibility. Once you yank off that blindfold, you’ll see the Gate waiting!

"If light is in your heart, you will find your way home."

- Rumi

The 4 of Cups has two aspects. The first, if it could speak, says ‘Meh’. The second, says ‘think it through’—in other words; apathy and meditation. Right now, you may be experiencing a lot of apathy. The turbulent energy of eclipse season has likely left you wrung out and lacking any kind of motivation. Nothing sparks interest; you’re simply going through the motions every day. Although the figure in the 4 of Cups isn’t visibly bound like the 8 of Swords, emotion has her firmly stuck in a rut. An opportunity awaits however. Note the rainbow pouring into the cup by her side, the cup she can’t see because she’s staring off into the distance. Breaking through the 8 of Swords will shift this state of apathy. The meditation aspect comes into play once you begin to face your self-imposed binds and blindfold. So, benefit lies in banishing the 8 to smash through apathy, and meditating will grant you clarity on how the situation came about in the first place. Don’t forget the Gate aspect and how overcoming the 8 will allow you to gain new insights!

The beautiful Star card closes out our reading, telling us that hope is our superpower right now. When this card appears, the message is it’s all going to be okay, the Universe has your back, but you must believe in yourself to move forward. Lean into hope. Take a purposeful count of all your blessings to shift into an abundance mindset. With the sticky energy of the 8 and 4, hope may feel drained, but your cup is ready to be refilled. Another important aspect of The Star is returning to centre. With the influence of the 4 and 8, disconnection from faith and hope can be present, so again, meditate on finding your way back to you. Shifting from 8 of Swords energy into The Star will take effort, but The Star is a magnetic force you can’t ignore, so allow yourself to be pulled into her brilliance. Have faith. Nurture hope. Everything’s going to be alright!

Although the energy of the incoming week kicks off with tricky 8 of Swords energy, The Star is a welcome promise. Nurture hope. Be kind to yourself, and others, and you’ll soon find yourself back in the flow, all cylinders firing! As always, take what resonates, leave aside what doesn’t. Have a Star inspired week!
