Tarot for the Collective

Welcome to a new week, one that has begun here with beautiful sunshine. Hurray! There’s a Full Moon this Thursday, the Full Worm Moon in Virgo, which throws light on where we need more balance and structure in our lives. Progress over perfection is the message of this Full Moon. To find out more, and see what’s incoming for the month of March, check out the March Tarot Inspiration blog. Onto this week's Tarot Forecast!

I don’t feel drawn to a particular spread this week, so I’ll let the cards do the talking. I’m using the Dark Wood tarot which tends to lean towards frank, sometimes blunt readings, so here goes. . .

Three tarot cards on display in a garden setting: Lovers, Ten of Wands, Seven of Swords. Vibrant flowers and greenery surround them.
The Lovers, 10 of Wands, 7 of Swords. Deck: Dark Wood Tarot by Sasha Graham. Look at me getting all fancy with my outdoor photos!

And as I’d expected; The Lovers, the 10 of Wands, and the 7 of Swords hints at trouble in paradise. . .

Love, or any form of harmonious union, takes the lead as we move into a new week. This union might be romantic, but it could also relate to business or friendship connections.

The Lovers is a sign of harmony; a beautiful meeting of hearts and minds. It’s the kind of partnership that inspires growth, vulnerability, and deep connection. The Lovers also represents life-altering choice; a decision that will greatly impact your future. Whatever the situation being faced, the decision is not an easy one to make, but in order to ensure the right path is chosen, alignment with personal values and morals is key. This is an important message to consider with the next two cards in play.

The 10 of Wands appears, carrying with it an energy of toil. While tens represent completion, they’re not always a happy ending. In the case of the 10 of Wands, it’s reaching the end of a long, challenging cycle, one so demanding, there’s not a hint of celebration over its conclusion. 10 of Wands energy is when you crawl into bed at night after a day where nothing went according to plan. You persevered, and achieved everything you’d set out to do, but, boy, was it tough. As you tug the duvet over your head, you don’t even want to think about tomorrow; you simply want to sleep. So, sitting beside The Lovers, this heavy card indicates that reaching the decision instigated by The Lovers could be a long process that calls upon all your mental and physical energy.

But, because The Lovers reflects relationships, it also suggests the potential conclusion of a union, one that has now run its course. Consider any relationships you’ve been struggling with lately. Has it been one step forward, two back? You may be experiencing misalignment with this person; your values, goals, and passions no longer gel, and the ease you once enjoyed has been replaced with unease, conflict, or disharmony. Reflect on what you’re fighting for with this partnership. It could be the potential you saw that hasn’t manifested, or a perceived happy ending that isn’t developing. Either way, the weight of effort is wearing heavy, so something needs to give.

The third card, the 7 of Swords, is a card of trickery. It carries a warning. Someone is plotting, seeking to gain an unfair advantage by pulling a sneaky move. But there’s a sting in the tail of this card, because the outcome won’t deliver the expected results. Yes, a lead might be briefly gained, but it won’t serve its intended purpose.

Note the figure in the card sneaking away with the stolen swords of her enemies. She thinks she’s left them at a disadvantage, but behind her, a black beast follows. If the beast takes her, it makes no difference that she deprived her enemies of their weapons because she’s no longer a threat to them; she’s been taken out of play. Her plan succeeded at first, but an unexpected ending made it all pointless.

The 7 of Swords closing out the reading indicates a souring of The Lovers relationship. It’s already a challenge, but now there’s another layer to contend with as one half of the party decides to get sneaky. This could be you planning a cunning move, or the other person. Regardless, it won’t end well. The best way to tackle this looming black beast? Honest communication, a logical plan, and the setting aside of raw emotion. Tackle this situation with integrity. Remember what The Lovers indicate; the easy path is rarely the right one. Pulling a fast move might seem like a great way to get out of this situation, but it will backfire. Instead, strive to emerge with grace and with your integrity intact. In the long run, it will serve both parties a lot better.

Oof. That’s a prickly reading for the incoming week! The overall message is to act with integrity and respect. A chapter is ending, and while it may not be the happy ever after you’d hoped, you can at least end it with grace and maturity.

As always, take what resonates, leave aside what doesn’t!
