Tarot for Creatives Sept 16th to 22nd 2024

Hello, Creatives!

Bonjour! I’m back after time in France visiting my sister. We had a week of chilling out, walking the beaches, shopping, and lots of good food and wine. We also had an 80s/90s disco night where we danced our flip flips off. It’s back to reality now, and with my daughter having returned to college this week, and the second year of my business course kicking off soon, the mood here is most definitely Back to School!

A Full Moon brightens our skies this Tuesday, September 17th. It’s known as the Corn or Harvest Moon, and as the name suggests, it corresponds to harvest time. It’s also a partial lunar eclipse which brings in a period of transformation. The shift won’t happen all at once, but slowly, revealing energies that will assist in completing a journey or altering a course. Lunar eclipses bring intense emotional energies, and with the water sign of Pieces in this Full Moon, we can expect a lot of healing and release, alongside an energy of expansion that encourages us to reach for our dreams.

With all this transformational energy swirling in, this week’s Tarot for Creatives reading asks; What am I reaping at this time, What needs releasing, Where should I expand?

Reversed Chariot, The Moon, Knight of Wands. Deck: Edmund Dulac Tarot

A reversed Chariot opens our reading, and in the reaping position, it indicates how loss of vision and willpower have left your wheels spinning in the mud. This is not an uncommon energy as we move out of the summer season. With routines shaken up by kids at home, vacations, and our own need for some downtime, the reins have slipped from our grasp. When routine does return, it can leave us feeling overwhelmed as everything we paused suddenly demands our full attention once more.

Willpower and focus will restore order. Make lists, get your schedule back up and running, and plan out goals. The Full Moon offers the chance for reflection, so take the time to also examine what fell to the wayside over the summer, and if it’s something you need to pick up again. Consider what can be released, and what needs renewed efforts. Perhaps it’s time to set new goals. Did your Chariot end up in the mud in order for you to make a necessary change? This card certainly demands a lot of consideration, but with the transformative energy of the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse, the time is ripe to embrace change.

“You only have control over three things in your life; the thoughts you think, the images you visualise, and the actions you take.” - Jack Canfield

The Moon appears next, a very apt card for the week ahead, and further cementing the reversed Chariot message of compromised vision. The Moon speaks of illusion; a lack of clarity which can sometimes cause anxiety. Things are not what they seem, so it’s time to lean into your intuition and listen to the voice within. If you’ve been ignoring gut instinct lately, The Moon is a call to release the fear of trusting intuition.

A sense of powerlessness also comes with this card, and paired with the fallen reins of The Chariot, it indicates a lack of control. Whether that disorder is self-inflicted or due to another’s actions, the call here is to reclaim control. To banish uncertainty and lift the veil clouding your path, grasp the reins once more. Physical action is required to restore order, but so too is the need to connect within and give your intuition the space to be heard. It’s time for lack of direction to end. The two powerful energies of the reversed Chariot and The Moon are calling for personal change. With the incoming eclipse, expect major shifts and surprises. Once the path forward is clear, you’ll gallop ahead.

The passionate Knight of Wands brings in a much needed energy of active change, adventure, and a devil-may-care attitude. When he gallops in, you can expect courage in spades, just what’s needed to work with the reversed Chariot and The Moon!

Expansion is incoming, so go with it. Push yourself beyond your normal boundaries. Stretch out of your comfort zone. Amazing things await. Wands are associated with creative energy, so the Knight bodes well for new projects, new directions, or even renewed vigour to attack a stagnant project. The message here is a positive one; expand your creative thinking, your self-imposed boundaries, and your courage. The lunar eclipse is bringing transformational energy, so grab onto it and enjoy the ride!

Between the reversed Chariot and The Moon, many of us will be feeling that sense of muddle this week. The way forward is clear: Reset intentions, expand limits, and act on gut instinct. Are you ready for transformation?
