Tarot for Creatives May 20th to 26th 2024

Hello, Creatives!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We had fabulous sun here in Ireland, so I stayed away from the laptop on Saturday and enjoyed the day outdoors tending to my herb garden. I have a healthy collection of thyme, sage, chives, rosemary, aloe vera, and lavender this year. I had oregano last year, but it doesn’t like our climate so never seems to last for long. I use my herbs for medicinal purposes, in cooking, and for witchery, so a multi-application collection for sure! Do you grow herbs, and if so, how do you use them?

I had a request for the Traffic Light spread for this week’s Tarot for Creatives reading, so here it is! Green: What should I Go For, Orange: Consider with Care, Red: Cease.

Tarot cards on a black cloth with a plant, candle, and crystals
4 of Wands, King of Wands, Knight of Pentacles. Deck: Samiramay Tarot

Cut loose and celebrate with the 4 of Wands! If you’ve been looking for a reason to kick up your heels, here it is.

The harmonious success that comes with the 4 of Wands not only encourages celebration, but it also asks that we take a moment to give gratitude. Take note of a job well done. It may have been a struggle to complete it, but you got there in the end and that is worth acknowledging. The 4 of Wands indicates freedom, so you may be feeling like a weight has been lifted. Enjoy it! Hard work has paid off, and while the urge may be there to push ahead, you’ve got the green light for joyful recognition.

With all the optimism that comes with the 4 of Wands, it’s a sign to embrace celebration, new opportunities, and the joy of community.

“The essential element in nurturing creativity lies in nurturing ourselves.” - Julia Cameron

The King of Wands dominates his field with charisma and originality. Appearing in the Consider with Care position, it’s an indication that being fearless, leading the charge, and taking risks is not something to rush into at this time. In essence, it’s saying ‘Don’t bite off more than you can chew’.

An abundance of masculine energy comes with this card, indicating logic, organisation, and leadership. A more feminine approach would be creative thinking, nurturing, and warmth. How would applying these aspects benefit a current project over the more dominant masculine energies? With the celebratory vibes from the 4 of Wands, the suggestion here is to take a more feminine approach to your creativity. You can still lead like the King, but a kinder approach would be of greater benefit.

Although the Knight of Pentacles portrayed in this deck is jumping for joy and bursting with vitality, traditionally, the Knight of Pentacles carries a steady, almost plodding energy. This is the one Knight of the deck who prefers to take their time. He doesn’t gallop into battle. Instead, he plots and plans.

Much like the the logical King of Wands, there’s a lack of dynamic energy here. If you’re stalling—no matter the reason—it’s time to shift out of that logical, calm mindset. Dynamic action is needed. As the Knights love to leap, so too must you.

With the 4 of Wands, there’s a foundation of success in place, so shake off the careful plodding and burst into speed. Wands bring a fiery, passionate energy, but Pentacles are grounded and earthy. In the Stop position, we’re therefore being directed towards keeping the Wands energy flowing. A conservative, cautious approach will not serve your best interests right now. Take action instead!

Lots of dynamic Wands energy in the mix this week. By bringing in gratitude, celebration, a touch of feminine energy, and a leap of faith, we should be golden! Have a blissful week, Creative Souls!
