Hello, Creatives!
Yesterday, March 10th brought us the New Moon, so we’re now heading into an energy that facilitates action, fresh starts, and reboots. With that in mind, this week’s Tarot for Creatives shines a light on What needs fresh thinking, What energy best serves, and What area would benefit from action.
The Ace of Cups asks us to look at ideas we may have considered in the past, but either decided against, or didn’t take the necessary action to bring them into reality. Ace energy is an exciting rush of inspiration and hope, and is the spark we all need to get creative juices flowing. But without taking action, our wonderful ideas remain as nothing more than beautiful dreams. It’s time to return to an opportunity or inspiration you may have passed over. Something great is waiting for your action, so listen to that little whisper of intuition nudging for attention. Great things are waiting!
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” - Socrates
Death sweeps in with seismic transformation, telling us to take a serious look at current processes, projects, and our mindset. Something no longer serves our greater good, and whether we like it or not, it’s about to be removed from our lives. Change can be tricky; not many people enjoy upheaval, but with Death, the shift is a positive one. Embrace change. Don’t be afraid to move out of your comfort zone and look at what lies beyond the walls. A new cycle awaits, one sparkling with promise. If change is already sweeping into your life, avoid fighting it. The shift is happening for you, not to you.
The Devil speaks of addiction, and while it can refer to toxic relationships or reliance on substances or behaviours to self-soothe, it also reflects the danger of golden handcuffs; a situation that no longer serves, but is hard to let go of because of the perceived benefits it brings: For example, a soul-sucking job that pays really well. Appearing with the Ace of Cups and Death, the indication here is that a situation/practice/process is akin to a noose, and in order to restore fresh creative inspiration and a much-needed change, it’s time to unhook that bind. The Devil represents chains of our own making, and typically, what holds us back from breaking free is fear. The Ace of Cups is waiting for us to drink of its love and inspiration. Death demands change in order for us to benefit from the Ace, but The Devil would rather the chains stay in place. To shift into a new cycle of inspired action, face your fears and cut the ties of The Devil.
Quite a powerful reading with Death and The Devil this week. It calls for acceptance and trust, but also courage. Keep your eye on the prize awaiting with the Ace of Cups, and you’ll be rewarded greatly for snapping the chains currently weighing you down. Have an inspiring week, Creative Souls!
There’ll be no reading next week as it’s a Bank Holiday for St Patrick’s Day. I’m also scheduled for surgery in the next while, but all going well, I’ll be back on Monday the 25th.
