Hello, Creatives!
I’m back from my break, although I didn’t take as much time off as I had planned. I did intend to stay away from the laptop for a few days, but I ended up carrying on with writing projects and research, just without the distraction of social media. The disconnect was what I needed, and has me more aware of how social media can be so demanding on my time, so I’m now working to create a better balance with this aspect of my writing and tarot business.
A couple of months ago I mentioned starting a YouTube channel for Creative Soul Tarot, and following a reading I did for myself on the subject, I got the kick up the butt I needed to make it happen, so big girl pants are hoisted up and I’m hoping to make my first video this week. I have a sneaking suspicion that recording content will be the easy part, as the editing process looks tricky and I’m definitely not a techie person. I'll keep you posted on the progress!
With self-care still on my agenda, I’m easing back into things this week, so I’ve chosen a self-care spread asking What is being neglected, What is needed, and What intention should be set going forward?
The Moon indicates anxiety, fear, and illusion. Appearing in the position of What’s being neglected, it asks us to face what prompts anxiety right now. Take a quiet moment to acknowledge what you’re shoving into the background. Shine a light into that corner, and be honest about how you can take steps to tackle the issue. It demands bravery and courage, but taking that first step will bolster you to keep moving ahead. If you’ve allowed the worry to fester, chances are it has inflated beyond its actual size, so this is where the theme of illusion comes in. Often, our fears and anxieties are far less powerful than we think, but we’ve created an illusion where they’re insurmountable. The Moon asks that we stop neglecting dealing with our anxieties. Face what’s bothering you right now, and take that first step to rid yourself of it.
"A wish doesn't change anything. A decision changes everything."
The Page of Wands brings a message of exploration, free spirit and enthusiasm, telling us to embrace discovery this week. The little sister of the Fool, this card encourages taking a chance, and trying out something new and different by allowing yourself the joy of exploration. It’s not throwing caution to the wind, but more shaking things up a little, perhaps coming at a project from a new angle, or via a different medium.
What about your self-care practices? How would they benefit from a shake up?
If you can banish the fears as requested by the Moon, you might find yourself feeling more carefree and open to new ideas than you have been in a while. On the flip side, daring to try something new might be what you’re already afraid of, but either way, the Page asks you to take a chance on his message by Going For It!
For intention setting, the charming 6 of Cups brings a message of childhood joy. Look to the past for inspiration. Can you recall happy times when your goals and dreams were wild and exciting? Consider how can you bring that to the present. Tap into the giddy energy of the Page of Wands by setting intentions without restriction. Forget the ‘But What Ifs?’ by returning to a place of innocence, where nothing could go wrong and the world was yours for the taking.
The 6 of Cups is a card of innocence, a happy place of peaceful play. There’s no room in this mindset for weighty adulthood responsibility. Paired with the Page, the 6 calls for freedom and adventure, so bring these themes into your intention setting. Consider mantras such as :
I am free to explore new creative/self-care possibilities.
I am open to taking chances.
I welcome change and adventure within my creative/self-care journey.
Once we can face the issues indicated by the Moon, it looks like a week of fun ahead. I love the idea of exploring without restrictions, and after the week I’ve spent looking at new ways to expand my business, I can deeply relate to this week’s cards!
What about you? What aspects of your creativity would you like to explore without boundaries?
