Tarot for Creatives April 11th to 17th 2022

Hello, Creatives!

I’m just back from a weekend away with two friends, where we got the cobwebs blown away by a feisty sea breeze, visited one of Ireland’s most famous lighthouses, and spent an evening enjoying chat, wine, cheese, pizza, a little tarot fun, and of course, chocolate. It was only one night away, but it was a much-needed break, and a reminder to me about how hitting pause every now and then is a good thing!

Tarot for Creatives forecast April 11th to 17th 2022
The Star, The Devil and The Tower

For this week’s reading, I’m using the Hinder, Help, Embrace spread, which gives insight into dealing with any obstacles you might be facing with creative endeavours. We’re building to a Full Moon for this Saturday the 16th, so as the energy builds, look at refining your work, sticking with it, and planning for celebration!

Wow—three Major Arcana! That has happened yet in all the time I’ve been doing Tarot for Creatives readings, and the fact they’re all close companions within the deck is significant too. The Star begins our reading, and in the What Will Hinder? position, suggests the themes of hope and inspiration are missing for you right now. Aligned with the Universe, and a card that reminds us to let go and trust in the Universe’s plan, appearing here, the Star indicates too much letting go, that to avoid making a difficult decision, you’ve decided to go with the flow and see what happens instead. While this inaction can be beneficial at times, it’s worth remembering that only dead fish go with the flow, so ask yourself what it is you’re avoiding, as chances are, this fear of taking charge is hindering you.

"Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will." - W. Clement Stone

What Will Help? He gets a hard time, but the Devil has an important message, one that ties in with how fear may be playing a part in the indecision reflected by the Star, and how hiding behind going with the flow is not the solution. Negative thought patterns may have you bound in place, trapping you in a state of hopelessness. The Devil is here to say break those chains and step out of that fear. You’re your own worst enemy, he adds, and while you might think you’re trapped in place, the truth is, the binds are of your own making. Instead of worrying about what could go wrong when you make a leap, think about what could go right, and keep that forefront as you take a breath, and a chance. With the Star at your back, the Universe is watching out for you, but you must shift from this state of inertia and act positively.

Embrace the destruction that is The Tower!

The Tower asks us to welcome its destructive, transformative energy in the What to Embrace position. A powerful energy that brings uncomfortable but necessary shifts, the outcome of this card’s destruction is always one that serves us better. If you can break the Devil’s chains holding you in a fearful mindset, old structures will crumble, allowing a new start. This fresh beginning will allow you to work with a more positive Star energy, and move beyond the indecision or lack of confidence that holds you in place right now. Block out negative thinking, make a decision, and while you know it may cause upheaval, don’t be afraid. What takes its place will serve you far better.

What a juicy reading this week! It’s worth noting that the order of these cards is The Devil (Key 15), The Tower (16), and The Sun (17), so if you can work through the binds of the Devil, allow a shift to transform your current state, the far more positive aspects of The Star will shine their light upon you again. The Devil and The Tower are two impactful energies when acted upon, so while fear may have you hesitant to move, know there’s something so much better waiting for you once you emerge from hiding.
